The reinterpretation of old memories gives the illusion to the viewers as if they are situated in a bamboo forest, feeling the temperature and texture of bamboo.
Many traditional crafts are declining in Taiwan. There has been a shift that furniture and daily supplies are made of plastics and metals. It has become a memory of good old days—peasant women were once busy working in the front yard while they kept their children on bamboo chairs; or each of the family members took low bamboo stools and sit together for relaxing in the evening.
The skill of making traditional bamboo tube stools is integrated with structure of bar stools. With the design of natural bamboo tube, wood and metal processing, it is as bamboos in the forest which grow freely yet with a certain order, and constructs “Bamboo Chair” which conveys a cross-generation impression.
